House Rules

Train, Ferry & Water Taxi

East Boston is easy to use as a car-light home base. The Blue Line is the fastest everyday option; ferries and water taxis are the scenic way across the harbor.

Public Transportation

The closest train station is Maverick Station, about a 9 minute walk, or 0.5 miles, from the apartment. You can buy or reload a CharlieCard at the fare vending machine, or tap-to-pay directly at the fare gates using Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a contactless credit card.

Take the Blue Line toward Bowdoin to head downtown. The first stop is Aquarium, the second is State Street, and the third is Government Center, where you can walk to much of downtown or transfer to the Green Line for Back Bay, Fenway, and other areas.

East Boston Ferry

The most practical harbor ride from the apartment: MBTA East Boston Ferry service connects Lewis Mall Wharf near The Tall Ship with Long Wharf downtown. Lewis Mall Wharf is about a 13 minute walk from the apartment.
